Volunteer

We Need You!

There are many ways you can make a difference in Uganda.  Past volunteers have found their visits to Uganda to be rewarding and fun.  We list a few possible ways you can volunteer below but leave open the possibility that you have unique skills and talents you’re willing to share.  For example, past volunteers have provided us with a working shower and chlorinated drinking water, taught sewing lessons and set up a computer club.  Please contact us so we can talk about working together.  If you’d like to discuss the volunteer experience at MercyLine with Americans who have recently returned from Uganda, please contact our partner organization in the U.S, Beret’s Light.

MercyLine Children’s Home

Spend time with the children helping them with school work, improving their English, and just letting them know they are special. Volunteers are appreciated at any time but are most beneficial when the children are on break from school for the summer (December-February) with shorter breaks at other times of the year.

Empowerment Training

MercyLine teaches widows, orphans and the general public vocational skills such as crocheting, knitting, tailoring and computer applications.  Volunteers are always needed to help teach these trades.

Agricultural Support

Come help MercyLine make the most of our agricultural land. We need volunteers to help us grow food for the MercyLine children and to sell so that we can become more self-sufficient.
