Building A Bright Future
MercyLine completed important building projects in the first half of 2018. These projects benefit the MercyLine children and the neighboring community.
We continue to be extremely grateful to all the generous people who made these projects possible through their donations. We send special thanks to Living Word Church in Marshall, Minnesota, U.S.A, whose members made many of these projects possible. We prayed for help. God carried our prays to you. You answered. Thank you.
The Ray and Marlys Johnson Building serves as the new residence hall for MercyLine girls.
The latest MercyLine building project, the Sophia and Gabe Lindholm Building, provides living space for the MercyLine security guard and his family, Beret's Light Kingergarten teachers and a guest room.
A new front gate and perimeter fence provide security. A security guard has also been hired.
A borehole (well) provides clean water for MercyLine and the neighboring community. This well has since been enclosed in a building as you will see in the next photo.
The new borehole (well) is named Sully's Watering Hole, a tribute to generous donors. The well is connected to a solar-powered pump which pumps water to an elevated holding tank. This provides running water for showers and kitchen use.
Driveway improvements mean that vehicles can pass no matter how rainy it gets.
The addition of solar panels with storage batteries means that MercyLine Children's Home has light. The system is also used to charge the staff's cell phones and to power a television.
Generous Donations Equal Huge Improvements in 2016-17
MercyLine Children’s Home has made so much progress in the past two years! We’ve replaced the original stick and mud children’s home with a new dormitory and the Dee Rysdahl Building. This multi-purpose building serves as our dining room, gathering room, school room and church. Our new kitchen, currently under construction, will provide a safer and more sanitary space for food preparation.
As you can see in the pictures, better living conditions make for happier kids!
