A Place to Call Home
Thirty to thirty-five children reside at the MercyLine Children’s Home at any given time along with a talented group of caregivers. For many of our residents, the MercyLine Children’s Home is the most stable home environment they’ve known. The Children’s Home also serves as a meeting spot for MercyLine-sponsored children who’ve been placed with nearby foster families. These children often spend some of the day at the Children’s Home while their foster parents are at work.
Three meals a day, plus daily high-protein porridge, are prepared and served. A visiting nurse and a child psychologist meet with the children weekly. Church services are held weekly and the grounds also house the Beret’s Light Kindergarten School.
We’ve made tremendous progress in the past couple of years in providing suitable housing for all activities that occur at the MercyLine Children’s Home, but we aren’t done yet. Please see the Building Projects page and the Future Projects page for more details.
